Attorneys are pursuing claims for participants in KeyCorp retirement plans who held KeyCorp stock (NYSE:KEY) or units in the plans. The law firms are investigating whether participants in the plans have suffered losses as a result of investing in KeyCorp stock through the plans when it was imprudent to do so. They are investigating whether the company and some of its officers who were fiduciaries of the plans failed to disclose the risk of investing retirement assets in KeyCorp stock and whether those fiduciaries continued to offer KeyCorp stock as a retirement investment when it was imprudent to do so. When participants began to learn the truth about some of the company’s problems, the stock price plummeted, taking with it the value of the participants’ vested retirement benefits and causing significant losses to participants who held KeyCorp stock in the plans. A class action on behalf of the plans and their participants would seek to recover losses caused to the plans and the participants and would be brought against the fiduciaries of the plans who were responsible for only offering prudent investments.
